Forces in Mind Trust
www.fim-trust.orgForces in Mind Trust (FiMT) is a Big Lottery Fund endowed spend-out charitable Trust, whose aim is to provide an evidence base that will influence and underpin policy making and service delivery in order to enable ex-Service personnel and their families to lead successful civilian lives as they transition from the serving military community. We have ambitions to make a transformational difference to the sector by working in partnership with and coordinating the efforts of others, and by supporting projects through decisive and targeted grants and research commissions, and through their subsequent exploitation to influence long-term solutions to the challenges. FiMT originated from a partnership between the Big Lottery Fund, Cobseo (The Confederation of Service Charities) and other charities and organisations, and is a member of the Cobseo Executive Committee. The Big Lottery Fund invested a 20 year disbursable endowment of £35 million in FiMT to create sustainable improvement for veterans and their families. The Trust is undertaking a range of research activities to improve the understanding of transition-related issues and the welfare support provided to former members of the Armed Forces and their families, such as: • Improving the role of families in supporting the impact of transition • The state of British veterans’ mental health and wellbeing • Mapping of the whole transition process • Information, Advice and Guidance support systems Grant applications If you would like to apply for a grant, please read our eligibility criteria on our website. For more information visit: http://www.fim-trust.org or email your enquiry to enquiries@fim-trust.org.
