The tradition of UNIGEO a.s. was established in 1951, the year the original national enterprise (“n.p.”) called Geologický průzkum paliv – later renamed to Uhelný průzkum n.p. Ostrava in connection with the transformation of the enterprise into a direct subsidiary of the Ministry of Fuel and Power of the Czechoslovak Republic – was founded in Ostrava. At present, UNIGEO a.s. is a consolidated company with a wide range of activities. Their implementation is carried out in cooperation with a number of domestic as well as foreign partners. As regards costly prospecting and exploration of oil and gas deposits the company cooperates with foreign partners from Canada and Australia. Throughout the entire existence of UNIGEO a.s. many of its teams and individual experts have operated in a number of various countries.
