Top Clef Publishing is a Santa Monica based book publisher that focuses on music materials for beginning to intermediate students. TCP was co-founded by a music teacher and pianist in 2012. After years of success using her own materials with students, she partnered with a financially-minded music lover to create a company that could make her materials available to the masses. Top Clef Publishing's main title is a sight-reading music workbook entitled NOTEBUSTERS. NOTEBUSTERS consists of 240 one-minute exercises covering over 30 notes on both staves. Typical music theory books spend only a few chapters covering note reading. NOTEBUSTERS teaches students to quickly identify random notes in order to increase retention and sight-reading skills. The workbook is a great supplemental tool for all beginners or current musicians that are looking to increase the speed at which they read (and can therefore play) notes. NOTEBUSTERS’ exercises are fun, simple, and quick, so kids of all ages (and attention spans) can benefit.
