InterconnectEd LLC
www.interconnectedteaching.comAt InterconnectEd, our goal is to help schools build fully integrated career and college pathways programs that combine core and elective subject areas with deep industry experiences for students. Our program is built on five key principles that we have found to be necessary for successful high school and industry partnerships. At the heart of our work is teacher training and professional development because without it, most pathways programs will fail to integrate deep levels of academic content. We assist districts as they embed fully integrated professional programs in areas of project development, business partnerships, guest instruction, mentor programs, assessment, and other specific program needs. Using an approach called Interconnected Teaching, we guide teachers to utilize industry and community partners for a transformational student learning experience. Although we spend time on philosophy and student outcomes, the most powerful part of our workshops is everyone leaves with something tangible that they have created to fit their needs and can implement right away. The more we integrate slices of these experiences into the K-12 experience, the more we prepare students for college and beyond. Since our inception two years ago, we have worked with the following school districts: Wayzata, Apple Valley-Rosemount-Eagan, Elmbrook WI, Edison High School, Minnetonka, South St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Oconomowoc, WI, Highland Park, TX, Prior Lake MN CAPS, and have also presented and worked closely with the CAPS Network from Overland Park, Kansas. We also had the privilege of building out year two of the BEL Program at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
