DMS Contracting Incorporated was formed in 2001 by Dan Stukenberg and his son, Matt Stukenberg. Dan had over 40 years of experience in the construction industry working both in the public and private sector. Prior to starting DMS, Dan worked at The Killian Corporation in Mascoutah, Illinois and Baxmeyer Construction in Waterloo, Illinois. During his tenure at The Killian Corporation, he helped to build the company into one of the premier contractors in Southern Illinois. Later, Dan become VP of the large earth moving company, Baxmeyer Construction. While there, Dan was involved in projects like the Gateway International Raceway, I-255 extension, and the capping of numerous area landfills. Over that time, Baxmeyer Construction grew from a $500,000 to a $16,000,000 company. Since 2001, Dan and Matt grew DMS with an emphasis on safety and quality. Unfortunately, in 2008, Dan passed away leaving a legacy, work ethic, and traditions to be carried on by his son. Since then, Matt has assembled a management team capable of delivering projects with the same focused energy on safety and quality.
