Peking University International Economic Law Institute (PKU-IELI) was founded in 1981 as a research think-tank to conduct high quality, unbiased research on macroeconomics, policy, law and investment in China and the world. With the research, PKU-IELI can provide counsel that advances the Institute’s goals to: Enhance the world’s understanding of China Foster communication in the international community PKU-IELI is comprised of distinguished professors, scholars and industry experts. The Institute has advised and worked with sovereign institutions, multinational corporations and international organizations, including the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Throughout the year, PKU-IELI organizes educational programs, including special lectures, forums and discussion panels on finance, global investment, law and China’s economy and major industries. Each year, scholarships are awarded to Peking University students. In addition, both international and Chinese students have the opportunity to intern with PKU-IELI. The aim is to help students gain hands-on professional experience in an international office environment.
