In 1869 Mr Jean-François Cail a leading French industrialist conjured up one of the most advanced agricultural communes of his era: he called it La Briche. 150 years later the site is being reborn as a cultural and artistic commune fuelled by the same grandiose vision, fully exploiting the exceptional architecture of Mr Cail and the exquisite natural landscapes of the Loire Valley. La Briche Audio was born in 2019 with the mission of levelling up the sonic capabilities of the space and bringing the site back to the razors edge of technological advancement by entering the world of immersive audio. This is being facilitated by the construction of a multi-format, immersive control room overlooking a 300m2 modular recording space. The acoustic conception is being handled by renowned acousticians Sebastian Noly, Acoustic Engineer D.P.E. for Sonogram, and Federico Cruz Barney, engineer and doctor of acoustics at Studio D.A.P. The design of the studio is in the hands of Xavier Fabre of “Fabre and Speller” whose unique expertise will be focused on merging technological advancements with the rich natural history of La Briche. In conjunction with the development of our VR spaces La Briche Audio continues to develop the site in order to make the tranquility and creative energy of the space open to all artistic endeavors.
