Our mission is to promote community based tourism as a tool for the development and appreciation of sustainable tourism in Brazil. Founded in 2002, by two friends who dreamed of transforming the world through solidarity travels, the organization has involved hundreds of people with the same dream throughout its trajectory. Projeto Bagagem has been considered an innovative social enterprise, by the Global Development Network (2006); was awarded the UN Seed Award (2007), received funding from the Kellog Foudation, Ashoka, TAM and the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism; and has represented Brazil in industry events in South Africa (2007), Guyana (2011), Nicaragua (2014) and Germany (2017). O Projeto Bagagem foi considerado um negócio social inovador pelo Global Development Network (2006), venceu o prêmio Seed Awards da ONU (2007), conquistou financiadores como Kellog Foudation, Ashoka, Tam e Ministério do Turismo, e já representou o Brasil em eventos do setor na África do Sul (2007), Guiana (2011), Nicarágua (2014) e Alemanha (2017).
