Everwood Farmstead Foundation
www.everwoodfarmsteadfoundation.orgThrough the Everwood Farmstead Foundation, professional artists will have an opportunity to work, perform, imagine, and teach, all while communing with the natural surroundings. Three powerful elements will come together: Artists, nature, and a diverse community. When this occurs, good things are bound to happen. OUR PURSUITS A. ARTIST RETREAT: Launching in 2016 Professional artists (e.g. poets, writers, choreographers, dancers, visual artists, sculptors, composers, theatrical directors, singers and musicians, etc.) will be invited or will apply to stay in the farmhouse to further or finish new work. Guests will be required to provide tools of their trade and will have full access to the main barn and, in the future, the workshop, which is currently the calving barn. B. ARTIST SERIES A wide array of professional artists will be invited to perform or show in the Artist Series, which takes place in the barn. The Series provides a 125+ seat venue for a rural audience hungry for the arts while attracting urban audiences and artists with a unique experience. Events will be produced four times a year, on average, from May–October. Donations will be encouraged. Half of the proceeds will be given to the artists and the other half to a local school extra-curricular program. The audience invite list is self-subscribed and consists of members of both our rural and urban communities. C. ARTIST WORKSHOPS Professional artists (including Retreat and Series participants) will be able to use the property and barn to teach their craft. Tickets will be available to the general public. Prices and seat availability will be based on the individual workshops. After covering hard costs, all proceeds will go to the artist. D. ARTIST OUTREACH Artists participating in the Retreat will be encouraged to present and talk about their craft to a local school or youth organization.
