UTS Motorsports was established in 1999 and represents the University of Technology, Sydney in the Formula SAE Australasia competition. Since 1999, UTS Motorsports has competed 15 times. The team consists of about 50 students who study at UTS, from the various disciplines of engineering, business and communication. Furthermore, the team is supported by several academics that assist the students with issues they may encounter. In 2014/2015 UTS Motorsports rebranded to UTS Motorsports Electric and developed their first electric FSAE car, competing in 2015 in the electric division of the FSAE-A competition. In 2019/20 the team achieved 2nd in the Formula SAE-A Cost Report and achieved various awards for Business at FS-Sydney 2020
