From therapist Brian Troyer: I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I am passionate about helping individuals and families connect and thrive. I believe that humans are relational beings, and that people greatly influence the feelings and behaviors of one another. At Fireside Family Counseling, I believe in looking at life’s difficulties with a holistic approach, where the family/community is an interconnected system, and healing comes through healthy connection to others, as well as individual change. I am a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner, specially trained to work with “kids from hard places,” meaning any child with a history of trauma, attachment issues, abuse, foster placement, or adoption. I work with kids, teens, and adults with a variety of needs (depression, anxiety, etc.), not just trauma and abuse. I offer a safe and compassionate environment for you (or your whole family) to heal. I have provided therapy in a variety of settings and worked with a wide range of clients, including inpatient adolescent substance abuse treatment; faith-based therapy through a local church; and with individuals and families involved in Department of Child Services and Juvenile Probation cases. I started Fireside Family Counseling in late 2017 to fill a great need in the community in and around La Grange, KY.
