I'm responsible for the following main activties: 1- Transposing a set of New Approach EC Directives and EN Harmonized standards of priority to Jordan to approximate EU legislations with the Jordanian ones as a first step towards the negotiation process for the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA). 2- Implementing Good Regulatory Practices at JISM. 3- Conducting Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) to examine and measure the likely benefits, costs and effects of new or changed technical regulations which will provide the decision-makers with valuable empirical data and a comprehensive framework which they can use to assess options and the consequences their decisions may have. 4- Conducting awareness seminars for the relevant stakeholders in Jordan to explain the requirements of the New Approach EC Directives of priority to Jordan. 5- Managing the participation of Jordan at ISO and CEN through acting as a formal contact point for JISM with these organizations and reporting to the Top Management about Jordan's achievements and the required actions to be taken by Jordan to contribute significantly to the development of International and European standardization work. 6- Managing the participation of the national technical committees that shadows ISO/TCs in the international standardization activities. 7- Offering technical consultations and advice to different stakeholders on how to apply and comply with the requirements of Jordanian standards.
