Why did we name it as International Trainers Federation? We decided to name it as International Trainers Federation for a definite purpose. What we meant by each term is explained below: International: When we used the term international we were having two aspects that this world indicates: Competency Level: We wanted to build this as a community wherein each member has competency of world class acceptability and is internationally competent. Demographic Reach: We did not want any demographic classification or political boundaries to limit this community. Trainers: We did use the term trainer because we wanted the trainers to be the focal point of the training and development industry. We define ‘Trainer’ as “Any individual or body that brings about a change in behaviour or the comprehension level of any other individual or body”. We do not limit the meaning of the term ‘trainer’ to only designated and self appointed individuals or bodies. Federation: We wanted to encapsulate the spirit of the term federation in the structure and operations of the organisation. What we mean is that we appreciate and respect the sovereignty and independence of any member whether it is an individual or an organisation. We want everyone to have their independent existence yet be bound and working together for a larger goal at the industry level.
