About the Alberta College of Paramedics The Alberta College of Paramedics is the regulatory body for the paramedicine profession. Legislated under the Health Professions Act (HPA) the college is designated to govern and regulate three levels of practice: • Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), • Primary Care Paramedics (PCP), and • Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP). In addition to regulation, the College also operates the Provincial Registration Examination and oversees professional conduct.
