ARCD is the first dark retreat center in the Nordics. A dark retreat is a unique experience where the person retreats into a space that is absent of light for an extended period of time ranging from a few days up to several weeks or months. It helps to quiet the mind and gives the body an incredible rest, supporting its own natural rejuvenation. ARCD was founded in 2022 with the goal of being a center for inner development for individuals and groups as well as for research in consciousness. This in an attempt to support the ongoing transformation towards a more sustainable world. We are inspired by the Framework for Internal Development Goals. The team has professional and scientific background in health informatics, anthropology, medical technology, religious studies, health technology and health retreats. However, it is our own personal experiences on the inner plane through the practice of various methods and teachings – including dark retreats – that united us and laid the foundation for the creation of ARCD. Having said that, we consider ourselves to be in a constant learning process and are aware that whatever we think we know about reality, it's close to nothing compared to the actual reality.
