www.chrio.caThe Canadian Human Rights International Organization (CHRIO) is a not-for-profit organization, founded by and made up of professionals of law, social work, sociology, psychology, and criminology and human rights defenders, in close partnership with members of civil society as the voices of victims of human rights abuses. The elimination of human rights abuses at the individual and the group level is prioritized by CHRIO, as affirmed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Geneva Convention of 1949 and its protocols, and the UNHCR Refugee Convention and its protocols CHRIO works so that the respect of women´s fundamental rights continues everywhere especially in the states where women are discriminated against and submitted to cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment. It also cooperates with international organizations so that the fundamental rights of children will not be ignored, such as the rights to health, education, having a family, to not go to war, and to not be discriminated against because of their race, creed or origin or their migratory status.
