The European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE) is an employers' organisation representing all levels of the education sector across Europe (from pre-primary to higher education). EFEE currently consists of 52 employers' organisations from 23 different EU countries. EFEE's mission is to improve the quality of teaching and school management through European cooperation and dialogue. The organisation is recognised by the European Commission (ETUCE representing the Union side) as a social partner for employers in the education sector. Creating a knowledge-based economy will become one of the driving forces behind Europe in the next decade. Related to this, there is a growing trend for increased European initiatives in the area of education.
