IMVELI Foundation
www.imveliafoundation.africaChild and youth in the township and rural areas is plagued with high levels of unemployment, social decay, crime and violence, underdeveloped sport infrastructure, lack of recreational facilities and lack of economic opportunities. Despite circumstances, it is still rich with indigenous sport hero’s which still inspire the indigenous population. Imveli Academy have succeeded to produce district, provincial and national champs and brought hope to the townships and rural areas around South Africa youth through our programmes with limited resources. Our key focus areas of our initiative is education, sport, health and environment. Sport is a mechanism through which further life training skills are learned. It brings social upliftment to youth that can strive towards emulating them and achieving their goals in sport and life. Imveli Academy needs to bring through champions of colour from a grass roots level but it needs to be assisted in order to realise that goal. The youth needs role models of colour that has achieved at the highest level and that has come through grass root development programs in South Africa. Our impact assessment on our members through pre and post research have shown a positive significant improvement on behavior change, school results, confidence, values, life goals, health, fitness, environment awareness and consciousness. The initiative instills pride to the communities as it encourages the youth to seek out positive influences. The vision of the project is to create platform for young previously disadvantaged South African township and rural sports people and to become better members of society that contribute to the growth of our country. It is hoped that through a partnership of Imveli Academy and potential sponsors / CSI and by the scoping of priority needs that will contribute to positive impact for the betterment of the communities and beloved country. ( Our children and young people matter).
