The ambition to reshape public services - by intervening earlier, by tailoring services to meet need, and by integrating services around the people who use them - relies in sharing information better. The Centre of Excellence is an innovative local-national partnership which helps improve outcomes for people, by supporting local places to improve their information sharing. The Centre is supported by a range of government departments - including the Department for Communities and Local Government, Department for Work and Pensions, and the Department of Health - and by the Information Commissioner's Office. The team work intensively with a small number of local areas who are transforming their local services, and help to develop solutions to information sharing issues. Evidence is captured in case study form, and disseminated widely through the website. Evidence is also used to drive change at national level, through national liaison with a cross-government Steering Group.
