www.chartsargyllandisles.orgThe Culture, Heritage and Arts Assembly (CHArts) is currently an open volunteer network of people working within arts, culture and heritage across Argyll and the Isles, with the intention of becoming a constituted organisation during the process of the Place Partnership. This Place Partnership is supported by Argyll and Bute Council. CHArts aim is to be instrumental in advancing Argyll and the Isles’ already vibrant cultural ecology, working with artists to grow local creative opportunity and establish strong economic sustainability. The group is formed by representatives from each area who will then coordinate hub groups to allow for unique and locally focused approaches. CHArts will become a constituted body. see hub What will the Place Partnership project do? Create a picture of what is happening in the sector now Develop a database of people and resources available within culture, heritage and arts Understand how transport, accommodation and social / physical inclusion is impacting the sector Volunteer / practitioner and venue training Create a website and identity for CHArts Pilot arts events in heritage venues promoting the synergies between culture, heritage and arts Develop a shared map of open studio events Support the increase of uptake in creative courses Provide creative industry internships Support the coordination of a youth arts festival Commission a showcase event Encourage and support a cross disciplinary project and build partnerships with other sectors Write a 5 year business plan for CHArts view and download the full CHArts Hubs Handout here for more information
