Kids FIRST is Lane County’s Children’s Advocacy Center. We provide intervention and advocacy for children who are victims of, or witnesses to, crime. Kids FIRST is uniquely poised to provide intervention services at a most critical time-- right after a child’s initial disclosure of sexual abuse, physical abuse, and/or witness to violence. The path to healing begins at Kids FIRST. Our in-house services include forensic interviews, forensic medical exams, advocacy, and grand jury. We do this all under one roof so that a child does not experience further trauma by visits to the hospital, child welfare offices, police stations, court rooms and beyond. In 2018, we served 709 children.
