TechFW was founded in 1998 and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) partnering with the University of North Texas Health Science Center, the City of Fort Worth, the University of Texas at Arlington to help entrepreneurs bring to market innovative technologies that will impact the environment, empower the community and improve healthcare. TechFW is about MENTORING, CONNECTING and COACHING. We mentor entrepreneurs to build their business, connect them with resources, and coach them toward financial stability. In general, we create an environment for technology-based entrepreneurship. Our time and expertise is invested in emerging small businesses and entrepreneurs that demonstrate the potential for economic and commercial success. This economic development effort provides a mechanism that facilitates the growth and development of emerging technology companies in North Texas. We are committed to fostering economic diversity by building on our technological strengths. WHAT IS BUSINESS INCUBATION? Business Incubation is a business support process that accelerates the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services. A business incubator’s main goal is to produce successful firms that will leave the program financially viable and freestanding. These incubator graduates have the potential to create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize new technologies, and strengthen local and national economies. Incubators also provide clients with access to appropriate rental space and flexible leases, shared basic business services and equipment, and technology support services, as well as mentoring and coaching to achieve financial stability and to locate the financing necessary for company growth.
