IIT Madras Alumni Association was founded in December, 1964, after the first batch graduated in July 1964. IITMAA’s primary mission is “To enable professional networking among alumni, between professors and alumni, as well as networking of current students with alumni for mutual benefit in academic, professional and / or business areas; including ‘Employment Network’ for new graduates or alumni looking for career upgrade / change, and alumni displaced from workforce”. IITMAA regularly conducts programmes and events that benefit the students, alumni and community at large. IITMAA has chapters across the globe populated with a number of enthusiastic alumni. IITMAA extensively utilizes yahoo groups to connect with its various batches and regional chapters. IITMAA has a full fledged office with competent staff who ensure smooth and cordial relations with other chapters in India and abroad.
