Denali Family Services (DFS) was incorporated in May 1995 as Alternatives Child and Family Guidance Clinic. Representing the vision of the founding director, Faye Nieto, the agency operated as an outpatient psychological and psychiatric provider with a child protection visitation program. More than 20 years later, Denali Family Services now serves children who require intensive behavioral health care services and their families. Denali Family Services offers trauma-informed individual, family, and group psychotherapy services in combination with intensive care coordination and rehabilitative services. The majority of the consumers served are children who experience behavioral health challenges as a result of significant trauma. Denali Family Services serves an average of 250 consumers each month in Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Valley areas.
