The mission of The Cottage is to raise awareness and facilitate the healing of individuals, families and communities affected by sexual violence and child abuse. The Cottage is an agency serving Athens-Clarke County, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Madison Counties providing free professional counseling to survivors of sexual violence and child abuse, at any stage in their healing process. Staffed by professional social workers, The Cottage works with survivors and their families as they navigate the legal system and/or the after effects of the trauma associated with abuse. The Cottage works with all people and welcomes people of any gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion or immigration status to reach out for confidential services.
