Nordic Immunohistochemical Quality Control (NordiQC) is a global and scientific proficiency program for diagnostic Immunohistochemistry. NordiQC provides a range of relevant modules for immunohistochemical proficiency testing within diagnostic pathology with attention on international standards and global acceptance. The modules comprise both well-established and newly introduced immunohistochemical markers with central diagnostic and predictive value. A specific focus is addressed to guide the participants to identify and select best practice immunohistochemical methods and to develop and implement tools to secure and monitor the analytical reproducibility in the daily routine. Overall results and data generated in the modules are published and available at www.nordiqc.org. The main focus of NordiQC is to evaluate and compare the overall laboratory immunohistochemical testing accuracy with focus on basic analytical sensitivity and specificity. NordiQC actively cooperates with all stakeholders being laboratories, industry and regulatory bodies to promote and establish standards for immunohistochemical precision testing. Several publications and international guidelines have been generated in collaboration with partners since the establishment of NordiQC in 2003. In addition to the proficiency program, NordiQC regularly offers educational activities as workshops being conducted by international experts with emphasis on both technical and diagnostic aspects to assist the participants to deliver high quality immunohistochemical tests. NordiQC is affiliated to and based at Department of Pathology, Aalborg University Hospital, Denmark. The program is independent, not-for-profit with no political interest. The scientific and diagnostic focus of NordiQC is supported and directed by international advisors. More information can be found at www.nordiqc.org
