The Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey (WGNHS) has been working to serve Wisconsin for over 100 years. We provide objective scientific information about the geology, mineral resources, and water resources of Wisconsin. The WGNHS also conducts natural resources surveys and research to produce information used for planning, management, development, and education. Part of UW-Madison Division of Extension, WGNHS collects, interprets, disseminates, and archives natural resource information.
