The Eastern Shore has some of the highest poverty rates in Maryland, and people in need too often lack access to legal services. Mid-Shore Pro Bono provides legal help to those struggling with such serious issues as custody and divorce, end of life decision-making, bankruptcy, foreclosure and immigration. Our clients are your neighbors, your friends, your coworkers – and helping them in times of crisis improves our Eastern Shore community as a whole. Our dedicated staff and volunteers are known for protecting the rights of all Eastern Shore residents. Our clients receive one-on-one, personal attention from our volunteer attorneys. Because we are deeply embedded in the community, we can best respond to local needs. For example, we created a new program to assist elderly clients who are part of our area’s growing senior population. Although we receive some funding from foundations and individuals, it is not nearly enough to meet the needs of our community. We rely on local support to make a difference on the Eastern Shore.
