The Summit of the Americas brings together heads of state and other leaders from the countries of North, South, and Central America, and the Caribbean. It is the most important forum to address our region’s shared challenges and opportunities. The Summit, and its stakeholder forums, promote cooperation towards region-wide, inclusive economic growth and prosperity based on our shared respect for democracy, fundamental freedoms, the dignity of labor, and free enterprise. The Ninth Summit marks the first time the United States has hosted the event since the inaugural meeting in Miami in 1994. It is President Biden’s highest priority event for the region.
