The German-Canadian Benevolent Society operates the German-Canadian Care Home, and also organizes many outreach events for the German-Canadian community. The Society is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which is elected by the membership. Society activities are supported by regular fundraising events. In addition, we are supported by a number of community and business organizations. The mission of the German-Canadian Benevolent Society is to provide quality care and support for seniors in British Columbia. The Society works in partnership with the staff of the German-Canadian Care Home, the health authorities and the wider community to offer a continuum of support services. We would like to be recognized as an innovative leader in complex care and are committed to high standards, ongoing improvement and the well-being of those we serve. We respect our organization’s history and reflect the traditions and cultural roots of the German-speaking community while welcoming and supporting a multicultural environment. The Society supports German-speaking seniors in the community through its outreach efforts. We strive to promote our culture and values through a vibrant, engaged Society membership. We foster open communication, progressive leadership, and team cohesiveness throughout the organization. We celebrate the commitment and dedication of our employees and volunteers and provide an environment for people to learn and grow.
