Lesfer was designed in late 1988, planned and implemented in the 1990's, subject to the Transport Engineering Program (PET) and integrated into Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) Technology Center. It's goal is to promote transportation area studies and to assist teachers and students of the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute of Engineering Graduate Research (Coppe) in their endeavors.
