Mac Millan

www.mac-millan.com

Mac Millan was founded by its award winning Scottish designer Jane McMillan to carve a niche in the fashion universe with her original vision of colour and texture. Jane was born on the South West coast of Scotland which has been a major source of inspiration for her print designs. She moved to London to study womenswear at The London University of the Arts, winning many awards for design including one from The British Council presented by Lady Diana, Princess of Wales. Jane further enhanced her skills in many British design houses and has been an Associate Lecturer at Central Saint Martins College and consultant to the governments sector advisory board for design. In 1996 Jane turned down a prestigious position at the Fashion House, Jill Sander to launch her first collection of silk chiffon dresses which was stocked by London boutique “Koh Samui”. Mac Millan’s original digital prints and vivacious colour palette continue to push textile boundaries. The synergy of fresh modern silhouettes infused with creativity make Mac Millan collections unique in the fashion landscape. In 2007 Jane was recognised by judges such as Hilary Alexander and Kate Phelan of British Vogue when she was nominated for Scottish Designer of the Year Mac Millan collections have appeared at the most prestigious fashion events such as New York (on schedule catwalk shows) London, Paris and Tokyo Fashion Weeks.
