Embrace Austin is a coalition of LGBTQIA2+ individuals, organizations, and businesses in Austin. We aim to build bridges between queer people and queer initiatives, boost Austin’s queer economy, and set a new standard for cultural competency in LGBTQIA2+ Austin*. We do this through hosting collaborative events, offering a robust membership, and leading with multiply-marginalized** LGBTQIA2+ people. *when we say Austin, we include inhabitants of surrounding counties such as Travis, Hays, Williamson, Bastrop, and Caldwell. **we define multiply marginalized as: LGBTQIA2+ people of color, LGBTQIA2+ people with disabilities, neurodivergent LGBTQIA2+ people, trans/nonbinary/intersex people, LGBTQIA2+ people in recovery, LGBTQIA2+ youth, LGBTQIA2+ elders, and LGBTQIA2+ people that experience gender-based discrimination/violence.
