Scene Genesis, Inc. was founded in 1998 in Rochester, New York. The company’s focus has been on improving the way insurance carriers conduct their claims handling processes. By listening to our client’s needs, crafting a big picture vision, and utilizing innovative technology, Scene Genesis has helped change the way the Property and Casualty industry does business. The firm built their first system, SceneAccess, and signed the first contract within weeks of completion (In fact, the first client is still a client today!). This product allowed carriers to move information electronically and helped to remove a laborious paper trail. Being able to access information 24/7 and easily pass it between the right people led to a severity rate decrease, lower loss adjusted expense, the shortening of cycle times, and improved ROI for our customers. The industry responded to Scene Genesis’ foresight, enabling the company to grow to over 25 P&C clients with an infusion of venture capital provided by the Trillium Group. Ian Cunningham joined the company as CEO in 2004. His unique blend of business and technology acumen is leading to a rapid rate of product enhancement and development; as well as personnel growth which led to staff increases of 30% in 2007. Today, the company finds itself poised to change “how business is done” once again with the launch of their SceneExchange marketplace.
