Swedish language and courses related to Swedish culture, history and society located in a charming university town. Students come from all over the world. The UISS offers Swedish language courses and Swedish studies for 9, 6, or 3 weeks during the summer. Courses take place roughly between June 15 and August 15. In the language classes teachers will also give insight into Swedish society and culture. Classes have an average of 12 student, max. is 15 students. Usually some 40 different nationalities are represented in the courses. Swedish is taught at all levels, from complete beginners to very advanced students. The levels are in accordance with the levels set in the Common European Framework of Reference for languages, learning, teaching and assessment (CEFR). All teachers have an academic degree in Swedish and are specialized in teaching Swedish as a foreign language. In order to be able to embed the language in context of Swedish culture, society and history, courses are taught in different subjects such as Swedish Art History, Swedish Film, The Swedish Welfare State, Modern Swedish literature etc.
