Aikido in Fredericksburg
www.aikidoinfredericksburg.orgWe embody creative conflict resolution, self-improvement, and community service through the teachings of the nonviolent art of Aikido. AIKIDO in Fredericksburg is a 501(c)3 not for profit corporation formed to expand on the educational mission of the Fredericksburg Aikido Club. The Club was founded in 1993 by Dwight Petersen Sensei and, in 2002, the Club was fortunate to recruit Aviv Goldsmith Sensei to move to the Fredericksburg, Virginia, area to become Chief Instructor. Formerly the senior instructor at Reno Aikido Co-Op, Aviv Sensei is a 6th degree blackbelt instructor and holds teaching certification in Aiki-weapons (wooden sword and staff). He has trained as uchi-deshi (student in residence) under M. Saito Sensei at the Iwama Dojo in Japan, where AIKIDO was developed. Aikido in Fredericksburg has a world-class training facility and a supportive community of students of all ages from all walks of life. Residential immersion programs accelerate progress to blackbelt and beyond, or simply provide respite from the grinds of daily life.
