The HEPIUS (Holistic Electrical, Ultrasonic, and Physiological Interventions Unburdening Those with Spinal Cord Injury) team aims to design and develop a system of systems comprising an entirely new class of implantable and wearable medical devices to aid spinal cord injury patients in both the acute and chronic phases of injury. With a particular focus on ultrasound field, we engineer, design and fabricate non-invasive and minimally invasive devices for neuro applications. With a focus on acoustic probes and ultrasound transducers, the range of applications for these probes vary from imaging and image-guided interventions, to therapeutics (oncology ablations), Drug Delivery, Piezo-electric cutters, Thermometry, cell-localization and Neuromodulation.
