In 1956 the skilful hands of the craftsmen who wove plastic wire onto steel frames created an iconic little Italian seat, the 001 armchair. This was the birth of Metalmobil and the start of a successful journey, guided with an eye to the future that slowly, day by day, became clearer and with a vision that became sharper and sharper and focused on one objective: design. Today, what was once an objective is now a prerequisite: design is our guiding principle, which drives every thought and every action, an ethical and aesthetic choice, an horizon whose vitality lies in listening to others. This is why Metalmobil is now Et al. In literature Et al means “and others” (from the Latin et alii), referring to all the co-authors of a work. Et al. is an open ecosystem, which brings people together and is continually enriched by the involvement of recognised and emerging designers on the international stage. Et al. is the fulfilment of a journey to discover its identity and that wishes to carry into the future the roots of a unique territory, between Romagna and Marche, where sea and hills meet and where craftmanship and industrial culture come together to improve the quality of life. The ending point of Et al. is nothing else but the beginning of new experiences.
