Educational method teaching girls from vulnerable neighborhoods in Colombia in a fun way about their natural beauty, how to discover their powerful and unique talents, and empowering them to change their own reality. ***** “You're beautiful, valuable and super powerful. You can achieve anything you want, discover and follow your passion…” Girls living in vulnerable neighborhoods in Cartagena hear this way too little, or perhaps never. Their reality is more related to problems such as domestic violence, drugs, prostitution and subsequent teenage pregnancies, which inhibits a healthy personal development and upholds the vicious poverty cycle. Therefore we created the “Powerful Girls Project”, or in Spanish: Hermosas, Valiosas y Súper Poderosas. It is a journey in which girls will discover their personal identity and strengthen their self-confidence and personal potential, consisting of three parts: 1. A "Power Book" (36 pages) including various short texts and personal activities for girls aged 10-16; 2. Additional KIT including items such as a piggy bank, notebook, poster, buttons, bookmarker etc. related to the Power Book. 3. Two half-day workshops given by a social worker, psychologist, a health coach and creative (make-up) artist. In the workshops, the various activities from the Power Book will be discussed in an interactive way and combined with playful, creative as well as relaxing activities. Groups consist of 15 to 25 girls. In the end the girls receive a special international SOPSOP certificate: SO Pretty - SO Powerful. To always remind them of their uniqueness and ability to change their life, their neighborhood, their world.
