The company is defined by two subsidiaries, SciCat Operating which is an independent exploration and energy production company of both brown and green energy and SciCat Geo which is a subsurface technology advisory firm. -SciCat Operating An independent exploration and energy production company, SciCat's focus is optimal returns via the grassroots evaluation, acquisition and operating of proven low-risk hydrocarbon assets (brown) and organically grown geothermal energy assets (green), particularly within basins of the Lower 48. With a combined 200 years of operations experience, SciCat has assembled a superior micro team of upstream multidisciplinary subject matter experts for repeatable low cost operating excellence. SciCat strives for the successful exploration, discovery, and responsible production of abundant and affordable energy for all. -SciCat Geo SciCat has developed proprietary and award winning seismic geomechanics technology that measures in-situ 3D minimum horizontal stress which is the key rock parameter that governs hydraulic fracture stimulation of tight geologic formations, not only for enhanced energy production, but for controlled fracture design and minimal environmental footprint. The novel technology and method is the recent recipient of the 2020 prestigious AAPG Levorsen Memorial Award for innovation in subsurface exploration. Changes in rock geomechanics and subsequent minimum stress define stimulated rock volume (SRV) and reservoir extent, which drives well performance and ultimate recovery of hydrocarbons and geothermal liquids, for enhanced brown and green energy production for unconventional Enhanced Geothermal Systems. The novel technology has been successfully applied to the prolific Midland and Delaware sub-basins of the greater Permian Basin, the results of which have been peer-reviewed and published.
