Public authorities have joined forces with businesses, chambers of commerce and scientific institutions to form the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion Action Group. Together we are shaping the development of the region with the aim of strengthening and promoting it as a hub for business, science and innovation. Our focus is very much on the themes of mobility, energy and IT. The Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion acts as a platform, manages the various players and contributes towards co-funding. The results of the cooperation projects are profiled and made visible in the national and international context. In addition, the KRT also plays an active role in representing the interests of the region and its players towards decision-makers at the federal state, the federal government, European and international levels. As one of Europe’s leading business and innovation regions, it features a healthy mix of multinationals, world-leading scientific institutions, SMEs and start-ups, along with a well-balanced cross-section of sectors with a high proportion of next-generation technologies. Business, top-level research and science rub shoulders with culture and lifestyle in a very special way in our region. A wonderful natural landscape with many hours of sunshine coupled with research institutions of world renown, innovative companies, high-calibre cultural facilities and excellent traffic links make the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion a great place to invest, live and work.
