WHAT IS THE OUR? The Office of Undergraduate Research at Cal Poly Pomona (OUR-CPP) was established in the fall of 2013 to increase undergraduate student participation in research programs. Participation in research as an undergraduate has been proven to not only expand your academic experience at CPP, but also improve student retention and graduation rates. OUR-CPP supports faculty mentored undergraduate research across campus through the coordination of scholarships and the annual student research conference. Undergraduate research (UR) refers to any activity that allows students to explore and contribute to their field beyond what is taught in the classroom. Students work collaboratively with faculty mentors, who assist in providing a deeper understanding of not only the subject matter at hand, but best practices in regards to the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information.
