Wahab
www.wahab.qaFounded in 2017, Wa’hab is a business start-up that offers food waste management and recycling services in the Middle East. Its operation is based on implementing the 3 R's of food waste - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. By organizing awareness workshops about food waste impacts at educational institutions, businesses and events, it has tackled food waste reduction at the source. Wa’hab has diverted more than 800 tonnes of food from landfills and redistributed it to people in need. It also works with OLIO, a food sharing solution, to rescue food and connect communities together. As for food that is no more edible, Wa'hab offers a variety of innovative food waste processing solutions ranging from large industrialized machines that can process food waste ranging from 5o kg to one tonne capacity per day to the smallest urban home compost bin. This way it helps recycle food waste and turn it into nutrient rich soil enhancer to support organic farming. By working with a number of reputed clients for food waste recycling, it has helped divert more than 33 tonnes of carbon emissions from landfills over the last few months. Wa’hab has been featured in media like the Middle East Eye, Radio France International. Wa’hab is guided by our core values: • A common-sense approach to feeding the less fortunate and reducing food waste • Respect for each other, our partner agencies, recipients, donors, volunteers and our environment • Service to the community with integrity - working compassionately, honestly and with transparency • Embracing technology and diversity in everything we do
