Techniques: • 3D printing • Casting (various metals) • Plaster / Stucco marble • Synthetic materials • Mechanics (kinetic art) • Restoration • Stone casting / Concrete • Repoussé and chasing • Wax The Kunstgiesserei St. Gallen has dedicated itself to various scanning methods as well as digital mold-making for many years, and has had its own large milling center since 2008. As of the spring of 2015, the company also acquired its own 3D printer. This makes it possible to produce large-format objects as well as small, accurately dimensioned individual components and also to realize forms of any size desired in a cost-efficient manner. For this process, the biggest particle printer in the world is used to print objects with highly precise surfaces from bonded plastic powder (PMMA), without supports, in the layer buildup process. Since 2012, in addition to the Swiss Company, there is also a subsidiary in China, called St. Gallen Sculpture Production (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. The Chinese subsidiary plans and produces art castings in bronze, brass, and aluminum in the sandcasting and lost wax processes. Embossing work is also done in chromium steel, among other metals. The subsidiary in China also cooperates closely with selected special workshops in Shanghai.
