Founded by the late Herbert C. Ewert, Sr., on June 11, 1931, Badger State Casualty Company Limited Mutual offered personal auto insurance exclusively in Wisconsin. We changed our name to Badger State Mutual Casualty Company in 1956. Our operating area was expanded to the state of Iowa in 1972. In 1992, we adopted the name of Partners Mutual Insurance. In 2012, we affiliated with Penn National Insurance, a regional mutual company that operates in the eastern regions of the U.S. We affiliated to gain more growth opportunities and operational efficiencies, and to access emerging technology.
