The Crop Club
www.thecropclub.comThe Crop Club is a social enterprise which is based within The Studio, a graduate enterprise hub at Loughborough University. Our mission is to reconnect communities through the joy of growing food, encouraging biodiversity and inspiring healthy happy lifestyles. We provide sustainable gardening packs to allow adults and children to grow their own food in small spaces. We upcycle coffee sacks to create planter bags so you don’t need a garden. We go to great lengths to source ethical, renewable, recycled and recyclable products which are educational in their own right. Our packs use companion planting combining vegetables, herbs and flowers to naturally deter pests whilst being beneficial for insects like bees and butterflies. Along with our educational packs, we will deliver talks and workshops, offering hands-on learning experiences to schools and community groups. We are finding a growing demand for these workshops, particularly within schools. The main social benefits are improved community engagement and cohesion as well as reconnecting people with nature, home grown food and improving education on sustainability.
