The Postgraduate Studies Program (PPG) in Experimental Epidemiology Applied to Zoonoses was created in 1983, offering only a master’s program. The PhD program was created in 1988. As of today, more than 300 master’s degrees and 187 PhD degrees have been awarded to the program’s students, including 35 foreigners of 17 different nationalities. We have established double degree agreements with European universities, and the first student to hold a double degree defended her thesis in 2015. The program was deemed of excellence in veterinary medicine by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES), and its academic activities are located on two campuses (São Paulo and Pirassununga). Eight of the program’s laboratories are located at the São Paulo campus, and two at the Pirassununga campus, one of which is affiliated with the Faculty of Zootechnics and Food Engineering.
