Australian Graphene Industry Association (AGIA)
www.grapheneindustry.org.auFormed in October 2017, the Australian Graphene Industry Association is the country’s peak body for graphene, representing businesses and researchers, and focussed on its safe and productive adoption. Graphene was first isolated in 2004, and is a relatively new family of materials based on a single layer of carbon atoms. Its outstanding electrical, mechanical, thermal and other properties offer the potential to revolutionise a seemingly endless number of industries. However, there is a long road ahead before graphene is properly understood, characterised, and subject to a widely-recognised set of standards. This will take planning, time and effort. The AGIA is an advocacy group formed by Australia’s leading industry players and researchers. We aim to promote a better understanding of the remarkable potential offered by graphene, promote the work of Australian businesses and scientists working to harness this, and create vital links within this community. Getting graphene out of the lab and into everyday use will require public researchers and private industry to work together, and this is where we can help.. We believe that graphene will change the world, and that Australia can play a leading role in this. There is, however, a lot of work to be done. We want to tell the public about this important work, where it will lead, and provide a voice for Australia’s graphene industry. To join the conversation, please join or Linkedin forum
