The Student Union is an organisation run by students with the following mission: ‘Everything we do is done for our fellow students – to empower them to achieve more than a degree.’ We are the umbrella organisation for all University of Twente related associations. In practice, this means that we represent the interests of students. We do this by allowing the voice of students to be heard in policy issues of the University of Twente. Besides this, we are also busy with providing direct services and organising events for UT students. Examples of these are discounts for students (Union Deals), competency development (More Than a Degree) and the introduction period (Kick-In). The current board consists out of Bram van Uden (President; Strategy & Policy; Staff & Organisation), Harro Beens (Finance, Accommodation and Business Management), Alies ter Lingen (Sports & Culture), Tom Lamaker (Personal Development and Education), Eva Vogelezang (Communication, Internationalisation and Well-being), and Joris Harbers (External Affairs, Entrepreneurship & Innovation).
