Congaree Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1992 with a mission to promote conservation of scenic lands, open spaces, farms, forests, natural areas and significant habitats in central South Carolina. CLT currently protects over 89,000 acres through conservation easements within its 14 county area of operation. In 2012, Congaree Land Trust received National Accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission. Accredited land trusts meet national quality standards, uphold the public trust and ensure that conservation efforts are permanent.
